Just Some Light Conversation.

I'm doing a new Bible Study on Wednesday evenings and we discussed this topic. I've been mulling it over in my mind, so I thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone has an opinion. You know. Just some light thinking for the weekend. :)

Why did God put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden in the first place?

Just curious. :)

  1. oooo...good question. but there's no way my brain can have a discussion about that one right now. ask me after this weekend. or else after the baby arrives. better yet...ask me once the new baby is sleeping through the night, thus I'm getting adequate sleep again! :)

  2. Because He wants us to choose Him (and conversely, to NOT choose disobeidence/temptation/world). To choose to obey. To choose to trust Him. Just like we are all given the choice to accept the free gift of salvation. We are not forced into it, even though it is Christ's greatest desire for ALL to come to him.
Or maybe God knew it was always going to be in the human heart to desire to be god-like and try and attain power. And he knew the only way to conquer that forever was to allow sin into his perfect world and then to forever wash it away with the blood atonement of His only Son...
Good Grief Katie! Are you seriously trying to make my head explode on a Saturday morning?!?! :)
