"Z" is for "Coffee".

It's no secret that I am (froo-froo) coffee lover.

A couple times a week, I load up the kids when they wake up and we head through the Starbucks drive-thru to watch my weekly allowance disappear into a frothy cup of hot goodness. I get my coffee to go and sometimes Cub gets a special snack and we take a drive around town, admiring all of Cub's favorite sights: The water tower next to the highway, the fountain in front of the bank ("BIG WATERFALL!") and any construction site that has tractors, while Naomi babbles and coos and says, "Hey-o!" from her car seat. It's really a very fun way to start the day.

I like to call it a field trip.

A few weeks ago, I told Cub we were going to get some coffee and he replied, "We're going to get Mama's coffee and the letter 'Z'!" Seeing as toddlers are sometimes apt to babble all of the information stored in their little brains, I didn't think much of it. Random letters? No biggie. Then I realized that every time we took a coffee run, his reply would be accompanied by the letter Z. Every. Single. Time.

One morning as we neared our drive-thru destination, Cub pointed and called out, "There's the letter 'Z'!!"

And then I got it.

The bright red "Z" on the Verizon sign caught his attention one day and was forever adhered to the experience of driving through Starbucks. Seriously cute. Coffee and the letter Z? Naturally!

Now if I could only get him to stop saying "We're going to get Mama's coffee!" every time we get in the car with Dadda ... he's ratting me out! ;)

Have a lovely day!

  4. So smart! And I am kind of dreading the day that Riggins can rat me out. "And then we folded laundry while mama watched a rerun of Desperate Housewives!"

  5. This is so funny! I used to be addicted to coffee drinks as well and every.single.time we'd get in the car, Sophia would ask if we were going to get "Mama juice". When we'd pass my coffee shop of choice, she'd yell out, "Mama, wait, there's your coffee!!!"

    Kids are so funny!
