After hearing rave reviews from several friends concerning the amazingness that is Greek yogurt, I decided I would forego my Brown Cow and give it a try. Apparently, Greek yogurt is typically prepared with sheep milk or goat milk rather than cow milk and the water is strained out, making it a bit more dense than the regular variety (and it has twice the protein).

When we happened upon the yogurt section at our local grocery store, I found that the Greek yogurt was in the same grouping as my regular favorites, such as Brown Cow, Horizon, and Stonyfield. I saw this brand first so I grabbed it up, as shopping with two little ones leaves very little time for perusing or considering. Survival is the priority.

I put the kiddos down for naps and settled in front of the TV to try my new yogurt. Just as I was opening the package, a commercial for Chobani yogurt came on. No joke. I hadn't even heard of it before! So, I grabbed a spoon and tried a bite.

Oh, y'all. Oh. AMAZING.

The texture is what makes it, for me. So thick and creamy. I tried the vanilla and wasn't a huge fan of the flavor, but the raspberry, blueberry, pomegranate, and strawberry definitely aim to please! Delicious. And, the kiddos love it. Cub asks for it every morning for breakfast, so I divvy up one container between the three of us (Naomi is also a huge fan). Just as I was typing this post, Cub walked in and saw the picture and exclaimed, "Let's go to the grocery store and get some yogurt!"

Good idea, Buddy!

We've tried Stoneyfield's Oikos yogurt as well and it's tasty, but Chobani is by far our favorite (both are made with cow's milk, I believe). I think it's safe to say everyone in the family is happy that my impulsive thinking resulted in Chobani. Yay for yummy yogurt ... especially one that everyone loves!

Have a lovely day!

  1. My son eats Stoneyfield farms vanilla yogurt everyday. A lot of times for lunch he'll have yogurt fruit and whole grain crackers. He has always loved yogurt. I'm not a huge yogurt fan. I go through spurts we're I eat it everyday. When I do eat it I'm picky - greek yogurt is one of my favorites.

  2. Is it tangier than regular yogurt? (I think I heard that somewhere...but you never know these days with this foggy brain of mine...). That's the only reason I haven't tried it. Sounds yummy when you describe though, so perhaps I'll grab a few at the store today!

  3. Yummmm. Chobani is my favorite, too; although Oikos makes a vanilla with honey in it that I love, too. It's pretty rich, though ... more of a dessert than a breakfast.

  4. I love Chobani! It's part of my daily breakfast :) They have a new lemon one that has lemon zest rather than the typical fruit at the bottom. I buy mine in packs of 12 at Costco. Oikos also has a caramel one which is sooo good.

  5. I've been wondering about that brand. The commercials have been reeling me in! :) Glad to hear a great review - we'll have to try!

  6. My favorite too! I love to have it as a healthier option for my powerful sweet's not quite as good as chocolate, but it'll do most days! We get the Costco 12 pack as well, a good deal.

  7. Have you tried Fage Total? It's my favorite. It is so thick, creamy and wonderful! The fruit compartment on the side is absolutely delicious. You bring a little over to the yogurt with each bite! Yum.

  8. Chobani is far and away my favorite also. I love most of the fruit flavors, especially PEACH. Yum. Summer.
