The Throne.

We have a new addition in our home:

It plays music. SWEET!

Twice last week I heard some veteran mom friends hint that perhaps it's time to start potty training Cub. Their reasoning? HE'S READY.

Oh. I, eh, really? I hadn't noticed!

(I'm so terrible at this sometimes.)

So, I decided that with the frigid temps heading our way, it would be the perfect time to stay cooped up inside with the potty. We'll give it a go. I think I know the route I'm going to take, but I'm interested to hear what you have to say about it.

What did you do to potty train?

  2. Yay! For some reason I thought he was already trained...

I trained S and blogged about it. I read a "Potty training in 3 days" guide. It was awesome and it worked! She was trained in about 2 days of staying home with very few accidents. I can email to you if you want. Just shoot me an email.

Peer pressure also works wonderfully....if he has any little friends that are training or trained, have him watch them and cheer them on. He'll want to be just like them.

  3. Seriously...this could put a whole new spin on the ole' musical chairs game. ;) I too will be checking back for ideas to use in the future. I've heard several friends testify to the cold turkey, hang out in big boy underwear for 3 days kind of thing.

  4. oh man, potty training is intimidating to me:/ Sometimes, I think Livy is ready. I may wait one more month til we get settled back into our house. Let me know how it goes..:)

  5. Yay! I'm so excited to hear about how he does! My only advice (seeing as that I have NOT done this before) is not to stress out if he's not ready. Everything I've read/heard is that some boys aren't physically capable until much later. But I wish you (and Cub) luck!!

  7. Yay! It's taken me almost 2 years to get my son to potty train. He would potty maybe, twice in one day, then none the next day. Even using "big boy underwear." We were still (are) using Pull Ups at night, but to help speed the process along, I grabbed one of the Pull Ups and told my son that it was the last one I had and I wasn't buying anymore. It was time to start using the potty like a big boy.

It's worked like a charm. Good luck with potty training!!
