Lasagna and Linus.

Tonight I made this lasagna for dinner. It was amazing. I was going to give picture-friendly step-by-step instructions, like I typically do, but the cook herself gives great illustrative instructions on her website. Check it out! I've never attempted homemade lasagna before, so this was kind of a big deal. And it tasted AMAZING! I invited my husband's parents over to partake with us, and we only barely ate half the pan between the four of us (and we were hungry--it's very filling!). So, my husband has a bunch of leftovers for work. Perfect!

Yesterday was that picturesque day where Cub and I stayed in our jammies and played all day. It was dark and cold outside and we were able to stay in where it was warm and cozy. I loved it. AND, I had Charlie Brown Christmas playing continually all day. That is, by far, my favorite Christmas movie (I love it way more than Cub--he could care less what's on that screen!). My favorite part is when Linus comes onstage and tells Charlie Brown "what Christmas is all about".

So, that's what this POST is all about--what is YOUR favorite Christmas movie? And why?

Have a lovely day!

  1. White Christmas, because it is adorable and brings back fond memories of watching it with Jonathan's grandmother during her last Christmas (I don't think the woman ever stopped to watch an entire movie in her entire life, so it was a big deal!). And Elf, because it just makes me laugh my tail off every time. "Buddy the Elf, What's your favorite color?"

  2. Definitely with you on a Charlie Brown Christmas, we watched it a couple days ago while decorating. My other favorite Christmas movie is It's a Wonderful Life, oh and of course A Christmas Story. It's hard to pick one!

  3. I followed suit and made the same lasagna. The only changes I made, was turkey burger instead of hamburger. I used the no boil noodles and I added one chopped onion, sauteed. It was delish. Thanks for posting about it. We have tons of leftovers.

  4. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (TV version) for the one that makes me laugh. Miracle on 34th Street (the original) for a classic. Elf cracks me up, too. oh, who am I kidding?!?...there's so many great ones!!

  5. Leslie, I totally hear you with White Christmas!! We watched it all the time growing up and I can quote the entire thing. My brother and I used to make up our own choreography to "Love, You Didn't Do Right By Me". Definitely a classic!

  6. You should have posted a picture of P-Dubs lasagna. I have almost made it 2910 times, but I have another recipe Darin just loves, so it's hard to stray. But I do love me some PDub.

It's a Wonderful Life. Hands down.

And any corny Hallmark movie. :)

  7. Okay that's too funny--I couldn't figure out who "P-Dubs" was, since I knew the cook's name was "Ree Drummond" ... then I figured it must have been the "Pioneer" part. Oh my. I think I need some more coffee today!!

  8. I love a Charlie Brown Christmas (along with almost every other Christmas movie ever made). My two year old has watched at least 5 times since last weekend (when we bought it). The only problem - they say "stupid" and out of all the things he could've picked up that's the one.
