Yeehaw.

Last week while the kids and I were quarantined (thanks to superfluous illnesses spanning from ear infections to RSV), a dear friend brought me a delicious cup of coffee from Starbucks. As she and I stood at the front door chatting (oh, adult interaction, how amazing!), I suddenly heard a scream and cry come from Naomi. I rushed back into the living room to find Cub sitting on Naomi. What in the world?! She was squished on on her stomach, arms and legs spread eagle, with Cub sitting squarely on her back. Needless to say, she was NOT happy about it. I sent Cub to his room and when I questioned him later about it, the conversation went like this:

Me: "Buddy, you know we've talked about being kind to sister. Can you tell me why you sat on her?"

Cub: "Naomi is crawling."

Me: "Um, yes, Naomi is crawling ..."

He paused and look at his hands, before looking up at me with his big blue eyes.

Cub: "DON'T RIDE NAOMI!!"

Oh, bless his heart.

He must have seen Naomi on all fours, which presented itself as an opportunity for a horsey ride, and jumped on, promptly squishing his poor, unsuspecting sister.

Yes, Cub, we don't ride Naomi. :) Too funny.

Have a lovely day!

  3. Hilarious! As the little sister to a big brother, I hate to break it to Naomi that it is only the beginning! :)
